Rangaswamy presents President's police medal to cops

Puducherry, Aug 15 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today presented the President's Police medal for meritorious service to police personnel on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.

Mr Rangasamy gave away the medals to Mr Kuppusamy Mohanraj, Superintendent of Police (Rural), J Narasimman, Sub-inspector of Police, Ezhumalai Govindan, Driver grade-1, V Achuthan, Inspector of Police, and Poongavanam Sundaramurthy, Sub-inspector of Police.

He also presented the Chief Minister's police medal for best service to Sub-inspector Dharmaraj Balraj, Murugesan Sundaram, driver grade-1, and Chief Minister's police medal for very good service to Sub-inspectors L Gurumoorthy and A Khaidhaazam.

T R Patinam police station in Karaikal region was adjudged as the best police station and a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a trophy was presented to P Krishnan, Sub-inspector of Police, in-charge of the station.

Inspector Venkataraman of Police Training School and police driver Arunmugham Subramanian, were selected for the President's police medial for meritorious service this year. The medals would be presented to them during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2008.

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were presented by the Chief Minister to NCC cadets for outstanding performance and awards for the best health field staffs besides giving away the Enviornment Award 2004-06 to Sempadukai Naneeragam here and Green award-2006 to M/s Chemplast Sanmar Ltd, Karaikal.
