Raje claims credit for putting the state on growth path

Jodhpur, Aug 15(UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje claimed full credit for pulling the state out of the 'BIMARU' list and charting it on the path of growth.

The Chief Minister, while speaking at the state -- level Independence Day function here today, said within three years after her government assuming power the state achieved the feat of becoming a surplus state. The Chief minister claimed that due to efficient fiscal management the state was able to wipe out deficit and become a surplus state in three years.

She said the notions of poverty, drought and desert were no longer be associated with the desert state. Many reputed Indian and multi-national companies were quiuing to invest in the state, she said.

Exhorting the people to maintain peace and harmony, the Chief Minister said law and order is the basic requirement for development.

She said the government has sanctioned Rs 9445 crore for 48 drinking water projects. ''Now women no longer need to tread distances to fetch water. It will be provided on their door steps.

People of Marwar no longer need to drink water from ponds, they will be provided with water from Ganga and Himalayas'' the Chief Minister declared.
