Prisoners released thanks to good samaritan act

Mysore, Aug 15 (UNI) As many as 14 prisoners, who were languishing in the Central jaill as they were unable to pay the fine amount imposed by the Court for various offences, were released today, thanks mainly to the gesture of Karnataka Cooperative Minister G T Deve Gowda.

Mr Gowda, who is also Mysore District Incharge Minister, visited the Jail after unfurling the national tri-colour on the occasion of celebration of the 60th year of Independence, remitted Rs 1,65,900 towards fine amount and got all the 14 released. The amount was raised through self contribution and collection from his friends by the Minister.

Later addressing the released prisoners the minister advised them to lead honorable living taking advantage of getting released from the jails.
