President's Medals to 44 personnel in MP

Bhopal, Aug 15 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today presented President's Medals to 44 police and home guard personnel -- including 11 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers -- at the local Motilal Nehru Stadium during a function to mark the nation's 61st Independence Day, official sources said.

The 11 IPS officers were Sudarshan Kumar, N L Dongre, Arvind Kumar. Anvesh Mangalam, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Sanjay Mane, S W Naqvi, Vipin Kumar Maheshwari, Vijay Kataria, B B Sharma and K C Jain.

Seven IPS officers were presented revolvers for displaying courage and showing understanding in dacoity elimination. Eight officers were awarded the Department of Jails' Correctional Service Medal. Three persons received the Maharana Pratap Shaurya Puraskar.
