Patil hoists National Flag in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Aug 15 (UNI) Kolhapur district guardian minister Harshvardhan Patil today hoisted the National Flag at the main official function held at the district collectorate here to celebrate the 61st Independence Day.

Among those present on the occasion were Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, mayor Sai Kharade, political leaders, government officials, social workers, freedom fighters and others.

Earlier, Mr Patil announced the implementation of the ''Mahatma Gandhi Tanta Mukta Gaon Yojana'' in Kolhapur district with effect from today.

Mr Patil informed that the state home department scheme will be implemented across the Maharashtra to foster unity and amity among the people.
