No militancy-related incident, ID functions pass of peacefully

Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) The 61st Independence Day (ID) celebrations passed off peacefully in Jammu and Kashmir with no militancy related incident reported from any part of the state.

An official spokesman said last evening militants hurled a hand grenade at Mazbug, Sopore, about 55 km from here which exploded on the roadside without causing any damage.

''Today it was totally peaceful,'' he said.
