Koda for unhindered flow of money in industries

Ranchi, Aug 15 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today reposed renewed emphasis on promoting industries and said strategies to attract industrialists has started paying dividends in the state.

''I have no hesitation in admitting that unhindered investment in industries will keep sustaining economic growth in Jharkhand.'' Unfurling the national flag here on 61st Independence Day, the Chief Minister significantly refrained from making too many referrences to naxalites movement in the state.

The police administration was being modernised to tackle the problem, he said.

''We have got success in counter-insurgency operation,'' he said.

On industries, Mr Koda said his government was committed to a dedicated approach to the sector and ground realtities could be seen in Patratu, Latehar, Barhi and Sarikela-Kharsawan districts.

The Chief Minister said the present generation was full of vigour and its results could be noticed in sports both at the national and international level.

He said the state was going to host the next national games and infrastructure was being created for the mega show.

Three new day-boarding sports training centres at Bero, Mandar and Chakradharpur had been sanctioned, he said adding that a synthetic surface hockey practice bed was being constructed here at the cost of Rs 300 crore.

He said a mega sports complex was under construction at Hotwar besides Birsa Munda Stadium was being renovated as per international standards.

On road connectivity, he said Rs 571 crore was received under Prime Minster Gram Sarak Yojana of which Rs 482 crore was spent till June, 2007.

Out of 628 road planning, so far 490 schemes were implemented.

Army jawans, NCC, CISF, JAP and Home Guards took part in the parade.

Twelve local folk artistes were felicitated at today's official function and each of them received Rs 10,000, a shawl and a citation from the Chief Minister.
