Ready to talk with naxalists: Kumaraswamy
Bangalore, Aug 15: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today re-extended his offer for talks to Moaist group who are indulged in naxalite activities in the State.
Expressing concern over increase in naxalite activities by the Moaist groups in Malnad region, Mr Kumaraswamy announced that "the government was ready to hold talks with any organisation who shun bullets and come forward in finding solutions to solve socio-economic problems." Speaking after unfurling national tricolour on the occasion of the 60th year of country's independence here, Mr Kumaraswamy said that "the government will not tolerate any attempt to disturb peace and tranquillity and we have political will to face the challenge." The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the State to cooperate with the government to rootout naxalism.
Claiming that the coalition government has succeeded in maintaining law and order in the State, he said that his government has taken all steps to boost the confidence of the security forces.
