Jammu-Srinagar national highway closed due to landslide at Ramba

Jammu, Aug 15 (UNI) The 300 kms-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for traffic today following landslides triggered by heavy rains in Ramban district, official sources said here.

Heavy landslide took place on the highway due to heavy rains since past few days at Seri area in Ramban at 0600 hrs, official sources said adding, following the to blockade, more than 400 vehicles were stranded on the highway.

Sources,however, said the Border Road Organisation (BRO) personnel were trying to clear the highway and the vehicular traffic would be resumed after clearing the road.
