Hot, humid weather continues in Capital

New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) The capital remained hot and humid as a bright sunny day welcomed Delhiites in the morning after a cloudy weather over the last few days.

The Met department recorded maximum humidity at 76 per cent. The maximum temperature also rose to 35.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum stayed at 27.3 degrees, two degrees above normal.

The weatherman has forecast rain in Delhi and other plains of the northwest India in the next two to three days under the influence of a fresh low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal.

''The current meteorological analysis suggests scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over plains of the Northwest India,'' the Met office said.

After nearly a week of dry conditions and hot and humid weather, the capital received a brief spell of moderate showers on Sunday night, which brought down the mercury by four degrees.

The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
