New Delhi Aug 15 (UNI) Delhi High Court has stayed the non bailable warrant(NBW) issued against the Bharti Airtel Ltd and American Express Bank till the next date of hearing.

Justice T S Thakur and Justice Kailash Gambhir yesterday stayed the proceedings till September 2.

The NBW was issued by Justice J D Kapur, Chairman of Delhi State Commission, on a petition filed by a consumer seeking a stop on unsolicited phone calls.

Petitioner Nivedita has filed the petition in the Consumer Court that despite a "stay" (injuction) from the court, the banks are regularly making unsolicited calls to the customer.

Lawyers Ariyam Sundram and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing, for Bharti Airtel and American Express respectively, told the court that the stay was vacated which was not brought to the notice of the consumer court. The lawyers said that they are complying with the court orders.

The Court stayed the NBW and issued a notice to the respondent.
