Haryana to have 'Mahila Shakti Sadans' in villages

Gurgaon, Aug 15 (UNI) The Haryana government will set up ''Mahila Shakti Sadan'' in all the villages of the state as part of its women empowerment programme.

This was announced by Minister of state for Tourism and Forests Mrs Kiran Choudhary after unfurling the National Tricolour on the occasion of the 61st Independence Day here today.

She also announced that forest committees in more than 1700 villages would also be constituted to empower women in the rural villages. Besides 1100 self help groups for women would also be set up.
