Dog enter Bakshi stadium in Srinagar during I-Day function

Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) Despite unprecedented seucirty arrangements managed to enter the Bakshi stadium, venue of the main Independence Day (ID) function here, when Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was addressing the gathering after unfurling the national tricolor.

Everyone was surprised when a dog ran from one end to another inside the stadium during the function.

It was a clear security lapse, said security force official posted in the stadium.

There were incidents when militants tied Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) with animals and even bodies of dead persons and later triggered them with the help of remote control or time device, he said on the condition of anonymity.

After running from one end to another for about five minutes, the dog finally left the stadium.

Journalists and other guests invited to witness the function were thoroughly frisked and their identity cards checked at three places before allowing them to enter the stadium.

It was however not known how a the animal entered the statdium where Chief Minister, his cabinet colleagues and other senior state government officials, police and paramilitary forces were present.
