Dasara festivities to begin from October 12
Mysore, Aug 15 (UNI) The world famous Dasara festivities will be celebrated in befitting manner in this city of Palaces from October 12 to 21 here.
Speaking to newsmen here, Cooperative Minister G T Deve Gowda, who is also District Incharge Minister, said that the festivities would be inaugurated by Siddaganga math Swamiji Shivakumaraswamy on October 12 infront of Sri Chamundeswari temple atop of the Chamundi Hills in a traditional manner.
He said that of the total Rs 2.5 Crore expenditure estimated for the Dasara festivities, Rs 50 lakhs would be raised through the sale of gold cards, which was released yesterday in Bangalore by the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, the expenditure estimated Rs 2.5 crores. the State Government has allocated Rs 80 lakhs and the balance would be mobilised from the sponsors.
Mr Gowda said that Minister for Engergy H D Revanna taken the responsibility to illuminate entire City including Chamundi Hills and heritage buildings during the ten-day festivities.
About ten lakhs people were expected to visit to the city during the festivities.
