JK: CRPF unfurls National flag in historic Lal Chowk

Srinagar, Aug 15: The Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) hoisted the National tricolour in the historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the summer capital here today.

Besides, CRPF and Police personnel, civilians were also present on the occasion.

IG Subhesh Kumar Singh later talking to Mediapersons said that the situation had improved in the valley.

He said operations against the militants would continue. However, no innocent will be harmed or harrassed during the counter insurgency operations.

Because of the improved situation people are celebrating the independence day in the valley without any fear, he added.
