Ashok Braroo awarded president police medal

Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) Intelligence official Ashok Kumar Braroo has been awarded President's Police Medal (PPM) for distinguished services on the 61st Independence Day.

Mr Braroo, presently posted in Kashmir, has made valuable contribution in counter insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir in the early 1990s and then from 2004.

He earlier played an active role in curbing the activities of Left Wing Extremists in Maharashtra and Communal riots in Gujarat.

He was awarded the Police Medal (Meritorious Services) Braroo in 1993 for his outstanding contribution in intelligence generation and participation in counter insurgency operations.
