20 CRPF personnel awarded gallantry, meritorious awards in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) As many as 11 CRPF personnel were awarded Presidents Police medal for gallantry while nine others got meritorious service medal and distinguished service medals.

A CRPF spokesman said the Presidents Police Medal awardees had played gallantry role during the counter insurgency and other operations in Srinagar.

They (awardees) included N K Bhardwaja, DIGP (Adm), Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Commandant, Pujja Lal, inspector, Mohammad Madin( former head constable), Dhoom Ravinder Bhai, Giriraj Gujjar, Dilip Kumar Meena, Jeet Bahadur, Qureshi Vafadar Ahmad, Munish Kumar and late Jeetender Singh ( all constables).

Those who received meritorious service medals and distinguished service medals included K M Iyer ADIGP( Ops), Gurenderjit Singh ADIP(Adm), A K Naidu commandant, AS Jhala, Deputy commandant, Maya Ram Chahar, Deputy commandant, Babu Lal, inspector, Mahabir Singh Sub Inspector, Janag Sher Singh head constable and Devi Prashad Rai constable. All are posted in Srinagar, he said.
