Virbhadra for development of tribal areas
Shimla, Aug 14 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said that development of tribal areas was on the priority agenda of his government and a separate Tribal Sub Plan had been formulated for speedy development of tribal areas, which had been provided nine percent share of the State Annual Plan.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhawnagar in Kinnaur district, Mr Singh dedicated the Water Supply Scheme Bhawanagar completed at a cost of Rs 56.24 lakh to the people of the area.
He further said that an MoU had been signed with the World Bank recently which had sanctioned Rs 1365 crore for road construction.
He said that it would help in construction of 2500 kms additional road length.
He said that a corpus of Rs 12.5 crore had been created by the State Government to restore the ancient religious shrines in the State and all such shrines were being surveyed and enlisted for restoration in a phased manner in order to uphold the religious sentiments of the devotees and to facilitate them with necessary assistance to carry out the devotional services.
The Chief Minister announced the opening of a Primary Health Centre at Nigulsari and also taking over of local hospital being run by State Electricity Board.
