TKM to promote Japanese language in Karnataka
Bangalore, Aug 14 (UNI) The Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangalore University for the development of Japanese language in its foreign language department for the period of 2007-10.
A company release said here today that TKM, would extend a financial assistance of Rs 12.4 lakh during the three-year period.
The idea behind the MoU was to provide assistance and support to further strengthen the foreign languages department of the University, where French and Russian, among other languages were taught.
The assistance would include sponsorship of a Japanese Professor, study material and teaching aid devices for the course. TKM also proposed to meet the expenditure on additional activities proposed by the University.
The move to support the Japanese language would help to consolidate the knowledge and strengthen understanding and bond between the two countries.
TKM also entered into an MoU with the Bangalore University for three years in 2001, which was renewed in 2004, to support and develop the Japanese language.
Makoto Ono, Director-Corporate Planning Division TKM and H A Ranganath, Vice Chancellor, Bangalore University, signed the MoU recently.
