Sugar prices rises on heavy festival bulk consumers demand

Navi Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices today rallied on heavy festival bulk consumers demand in the face of lesser stock arrivals from co-operative mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Prices of small and medium grades rose by Rs nine and Rs five respectively owing to lesser stock supply, traders said.

Ex-mill prices of small and medium grades also rose by Rs five each in line with open market prices, traders added.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,300/1,356, Medium grade Rs 1,353/1,460.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,280/1,305, Medium grade: Rs 1,335/1,425 UNI AR OBB VKG1705
