Sonia Gandhi to launch INDIRAMMA's second phase on Sept 1

Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) Congress President and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will launch the second phase of the prestigious INDIRAMMA programme to provide houses to all eligible poor in Andhra Pradesh, on September one.

Talking to reporters here today, State Housing Minister B Satyanarayana said, Ms Gandhi was likely to participate in two or three functions in the state on September one for launching the ''Intintiki INDIRAMMA''.

About 23 lakh beneficiaries were likely to be selected for the second phase of the programme, he said.

Announcing the launch of a toll-free telephone number 1100 christened ''INDIRAMMA Parishkaram'' on August 16, he said all eligible poor, who were not allotted houses so far, could call the number and they would be provided houses under the scheme, based on saturation of the demand concept.

Complaints regarding implementation of the programme would also be registered, he added.
