'Sawan Jhoola Mela' to begin tomorrow
Ayodhya, Aug 14 (UNI) Preperations are in full-swing for the famous 'Sawan Jhoola Mela' here, set to begin here tomorrow along with the 'Maniparvat mela'.
A large number of devouts throng the 'Sawan Jhoola Mela,' which stretches for 15 days and ends with the reverred 'Poornima Snan.' The atmosphere of this holy city becomes religious and pious with the prayers offered to Lord Ram and Sita. Besides, regional songs like 'Kajri' are sung all around.
On the day of 'Maniparvat Mela', the 'jhankis' of Lord Ram and Sita are taken from 'mutt' and 'mandirs' to the Maniparvat and worshipped.
The idols of Lord Ram are worshipped at the 'jhoolas' hung from the trees.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up and police in strength deployed to thwart any nefarious designs.
Six additional Police Superintendents, 26 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 110 sub inspectors, three inspectors, 68 head constables, 500 constables, eight women sub inspectors, six women head constables, 35 women constables, six traffic sub-inspectors and 650 home guards have been depolyed.
District Magistrate Anil Garg told UNI here today that preperations were underway for the 15 day fair, that ends on August 28 rptg 28. The damaged roads are being repaired, watch tower and CCTVs installed at 'ghats' to manage the huge crowd.
Besides, six zones had been made in the ghats and zonal magistrates appointed at each ghat.
''The mela area had been surrounded by barricades and divided into 30 sectors, which will be under the eye of an in charge,'' Additional District Magistrate (city) Divya Prakash Giri said.
Boats in adequate number had also been pressed into service to prevent any flood casualty in the area.
