Sangrur resident shot dead in property dispute

Sangrur, Aug 14 (UNI) A local resident was shot dead near the Police Lines area here last night, police today said.

According to the police, the victim identified as Harjit Singh was fired upon while he was returning home. He was rushed to the civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A property dispute was believed to be the reason behind the murder.

The police later arrested the two alleged culprits, Sanjay Chauhan, owner of a local school and his driver Rakesh Kumar, who had fired the shots. The two were booked under sections 302 of the IPC and the Arms Act.
