Rs 5 lakh assistance provided for holding youth Parliament
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Centre has provided Rs 5 lakh for holding Youth Parliament in all the schools and colleges of the States every year, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi informed the Lok Sabha today.
In a written reply, he said this is being done on the recommendations of the All India Whips' Conference that all States should take steps to implement the Youth Parliament Scheme on the pattern adopted by the Central Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
The Central Scheme envisages the conduct of the Competitions in selected schools only and not in all the schools. Further, it is not mandatory on the part of States to conduct Youth Parliament Competitions in the schools and colleges.
