Rs 10 lakh looted from Bank of India
Tirupati, Aug 14 (UNI) Two unidentified youths today looted Rs ten lakh from the cash counter of Bank of India's Bairagipatteda branch here at gunpoint.
Police said the masked persons, carrying a pistol and a double barrel gun, entered the bank between 1500 hrs and 1600 hrs. After pulling down the shutters, the culprits, aged below 30 years, threatened the employees at gun point and fled with the cash.
However, all the lockers were intact, police said.
In a similar incident last month, two armed miscreants had struck at the Khadi Colony Branch of Karur Vysya Bank in the temple town and fled with Rs nine lakh in cash. They are yet to be arrested.
