Panthers Party inciting militancy victims for violence: Congress
Jammu, Aug 14 (UNI) Congress today accused Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh of inciting the ''militancy victims'' in Reasi.
Addressing a press conference, Congress spokesman Ravinder Sharma charged the Panthers Party with ''exploiting innocent people for its own political gains.'' ''Prof Bhim Singh has started this campaign to malign the image of Congress party, which has always been there to help the people,'' Mr Sharma said.
The Panthers Party had never taken up this issue while it was in the coalition government, he asserted.
He claimed that the militancy victims putting up at Talwara in Reasi were given relief equal to that provided to the border migrants in the state.
''however, some arrears are pending but the state government is committed to provide migrants their pending dues'' the spokesman said, adding the Center has been requested to provide Rs 12 crore in this regard.
