Srinagar Aug 14 (UNI) Non-migrant pandits have demanded a special recruitment drive for unemployed youths of the community and separate residential complexes in the Kashmir valley.

A deputation of Hindu Welfare Society, Kashmir, an organisation formed by the Kashmiri Pandits who did not migrate when almost the entire community left the valley in early Nineties, alleged that government had failed to address their problems.

President of the society Moti Lal Bhat during his meeting with the State Secretary of the Communist Party of India Mohammad Yousuf Targami demanded that a special recruitment drive should be launched for the unemployed educated youths of the community in the valley.

He also demanded construction of residential complexes for Kashmir based non migrant pandits at suitable places on the pattern of Kashmiri migrants at Jammu and regularization of Class-IV employees working in various departments of the state.

About ten to 15 fifteen thousand Kashmiri pandits are still living in different parts of the valley, including the far flung and remote villages in the Kashmir valley while more than three lakh migrated to different parts of the country after eruption of militancy.
