Mini-load carriers stage demo to press demands

Puducherry, Aug 14 (UNI) Members of the Puducherry mini-load carriers owners and drivers association today took out a procession from Singaravelar statue to the Legislative Assembly to press their demands.

They were demanding provision of petrol and diesel on subsidised rates, setting up a welfare board for drivers and provision of house site pattas to them among others things.

Police stopped the protestors on Ambur Saalai where they staged a demonostration and dispersed.
