Lok Sabha adjourned till 1130 hrs
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1130 hrs today as MPs from Kerala stalled the proceedings, demanding creation of a separate South-Western Railway zone, as promised by Minister Lalu Prasad.
As soon as the House assembled, MPs from Kerala, most of them belonging to CPI(M), were on their feet and raised an uproar for not carving out a separate Railway zone. Some MPs also waved placards.
However, members of the Opposition kept mum and watched the MPs of UPA partners disrupting the proceedings.
After about ten minutes' uproar, Mr Lalu Prasad entered the House but did not say anything on the issue. However, Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee assured the irate members that their demands would be taken up after the Question Hour at 1200 hrs.
But the agitated MPs refused to budge, forcing Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to adjourn the House for half an hour.
