Lawyers on ceasework, protest against advocate's assault
Barrackpore, Aug 14 (UNI) Lawyers of different courts in North 24 Parganas today observed ceasework called by the West Bengal Bar Council against the assault of an advocate at Diamond Harbour recently.
The court premises at Barasat, Bangaon, Bidhanagar, including here, wore a deserted look, sources said. However, a few litigants and accused produced at the courts today moved the appeal personally before the magistrates and judges.
RAF and Combat Forces were deployed near Barrackpore court as some Maoists were supposed to be produced.
However, other litigants were given new dates for hearing, sources said.
No untoward incidents were reported so far, sources added.
