Karnataka incurrs Rs 5400 cr loss in recent floods
Gadag, Karnataka, Aug 14 (UNI) Karnataka has incurred a loss of over Rs 5400 crore due to incessant rains that lashed for over a week, said Karnataka Revenue minister Jagadish Shettar.
Talking to newsmen here last evening, there was a large scale damage to standing crops and public property. The state government has released Rs 50 crore to take up flood relief measures in the flood affected areas.
The government would release another Rs 100 crore if needed to tackle the situation, he added.
