Ranchi, Aug 14 (UNI) Taking suomotu action on a petition filed by a girl that she was gangraped in a vehicle with black glasses, the Jharkhand High Court today directed the state government to ban use of such glasses in the vehicles.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagvinayagam and Justice Narendranath Tiwary, passed the order while hearing the writ petition.

The victim said the accused dragged her inside a vehicle and raped her.

Taking serious note of the victim's letter, the court directed Advocate General S B Garodia to take stern action against the accused under Motor Vehicle Act.

In another case, the state government today informed the court that two rounds of meetings have been held so far on the decision to run buses on four routes connecting main areas of the state capital.

The same bench directed Janak Kumar Mishra, who had filed a PIL in this regard, to file his suggestions before the court in connection with the bus services here.

Mr Mishra's lawyer Sanjeev Kumar Mishra had argued that the state government should develop and provide public transport system in the capital and surrounding areas for cheap and easy communication.

After the hearing, the court had asked the state government to file an affidavit in this regard today.
