Grave diggers chop of head and arm from child's corpse

Hoshiarpur, Aug 14 (UNI) In a shocking incident, some unidentified grave diggers dug up a grave of a three-day-old girl child and chopped off the corpse's head and left arm in Garhshankar in this district.

According to the police, Ajay Kumar a resident of Garhshankar, complained that some unknown person had dug the grave of his three-day-old female child who was buried on August 12 at the local cremation ground.

However, he was informed yesterday that some unknown persons had dug-up the grave of his daughter.

On reaching the grave, he found that head and left arm of the body were missing and rose petals were scattered on the grave.

He informed the police immediately. Police took the dead body in its possession and got a postmortem conducted in the Civil Hospital, Garhshankar.

Later the police registered a case under section 297 of the IPC against the unknown grave diggers and was trying to nab them, sources said.
