Govt to generate 7 lakh job opportunities in private sector
Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced that the government would generate seven to eight lakh jobs in the private sector within two years in the state.
Addressing a gathering on the eve of the '60th Independence Day' here, Dr Reddy said the government was committed to providing employment to all educated youth. Job opportunities in private sector would also be provided to them in future.
Stating that the government would construct 60 lakh houses under INDIRAMMA housing scheme within two years, he said the government had constructed 21 lakh houses since the Congress came to power. The government aimed at providing shelter to all the poor people by the end of 2008.
Pointing out that the government had introduced 'Arogya Sri' health insurance scheme to perform free surgeries and provide medical treatment to BPL families, Dr Reddy said the pension scheme would be extended to 50 lakh people in two years as the government had already covered 30 lakh.
The government would provide loans to the tune of Rs 7,000 crore to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) this year as against Rs 3,500 crore distributed last year, he said.
