Five Punjab Police cops suspended for misbehaving with girls

Ludhiana, Aug 14 (UNI) Five Punjab Police cops including an Inspector were placed under suspension for misbehaving with students of Punjab Technical University (PTU) at Raikot in Ludhiana Rural police district last night.

A case under sections 341, 354, 323, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC was registered against them at Raikot police station, SSP G S Bhullar stated here today.

The policemen included Inspector Gagandeep Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Raikot police station, constables Munish Kumar and Sukbbir Singh and Special Police Officers (SPOs) Harinder Singh and Rashpal Singh. They have been instructed to report at police lines here.

Giving details Mr Bhullar said that the guilty policemen misbehaved with the students including girls late last night at Raikot and the matter was reported to him and thereafter action was taken this morning. The students were returning in a private vehicle to the PTU campus near Jalandhar.
