Efforts to save Ram Setu have nothing religious in them: BJS
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Asserting that Bhartiya Jan Shakti's efforts to save Ram Setu have nothing to do with ''belief'', the party's Uttar Pradesh secretary today said in case it gets demolished it would even affect ''our national security.'' ''To run a save Ram Setu campaign is not a matter of belief or religion as such, as the BJS feels strongly for all the issues affecting the nation'', said party's UP secretary and spokesperson, Rajive Kumar.
''It would also endanger our national security as any one could enter into the Indian waters from Sri Lankan side without any obstruction'' he said.
Launching a web site -- www.saveramsetu.org -- exclusively for the Ram Setu, Mr Kumar said, ''It was not only religion but various other issues were also attached to it and if the Setu gets demolished it would directly affect millions of people, specially those who were fishing in that area for generations now.'' The website was to be inaugurated by party president Uma Bharti but as she could not reach on time, it was done so by Maa Purn Pragya, a party activist.
