DHBVN to spend Rs 876 cr power augmentation

Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has made an annual plan of over Rs 876 crore to strengthen and augment power distribution system in its area comprising Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat, Gurgaon and Faridabad districts.

This was stated by Mr Deepender Singh Hooda, MP, after laying foundation stone of a 33 KV substation at village Dharedu near here today.

He also laid foundation stone of a stadium to be constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh and a project of Model village costing Rs 4.5 crore.

He said the DHBVN planned to construct 37 new sub-stations of 33 KV level and augment capacity of 10 existing sub stations of 33 KV level during the current financial year.

With the completion of this construction work at a cost of Rs 37 crore, the capacity of transmission and distribution system would be augmented by 385 MVA.

He said an amount of Rs 139 crore had been earmarked for bifurcation of 100 lengthier and overloaded feeders of 11 KV level during the year under Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY).

Under the scheme, all the rural households, including those who were Below Poverty Line (BPL), would be given electric connections, he added.

Mr Hooda said that a major emphasis in the annual outlay had been given to segregation of rural domestic load from rural agricultural load.

A scheme costing Rs 268 crore had been introduced for giving regular power supply to domestic consumers in villages for lighting purpose, he added.
