Crops on over 6000 ha affected due to floods in Kolhapur
Kolhapur, Aug 14 (UNI) Crops, including sugarcane and paddy, on over 6000 hectares of land have been damaged in Kolhapur district due to heavy rains and flooding.
District guardian minister Harshwardhan Patil, while addressing a press conference here today, said this was according to the preliminary estimates and the government was engaged in conducting detailed ''panchnamas''.
After the completion of this process, a detailed report on the losses would be presented for necessary action, including payment of compensation to the farmers, the Minister said.
Mr Patil pointed out that the district had faced flood situation thrice during the current monsoon.
