New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Terming the Indo-US nuclear deal ''very dangerous'' for India's security and sovereignty, the CPI-ML today asked the Left parties to withdraw support to the Manmohan Singh government for ''succumbing to US designs''.

''It is not enough to stage walkouts in Parliament. This Government is at the helm of affairs with the support of Left parties and so the they are also equally responsible,'' said Rajendra Pathroli, Delhi unit president of the party here.

As part of protests to be organised nationwide today, the CPI-ML staged a demonstration near Jantar Mantar here. They burnt the banners of the 123 agreement, with images of Dr Manmohan Singh and US president George Bush imprinted on it.

Addressing the gathering, Kavita Krishnan, activist and a former JNU student said successive governments at the Centre have pushed the country into the stranglehold of US imperialism. ''The deal will mortgage the country's autonomy and holds out a potential threat of American invasion on Indian soil,'' she said.

She said the Prime Minister was acting on the dictates of the US and his continuing in power even for a minute was not in the national interest.
