Chari Mubarak performed ahead of cave trek

Kashmir, Aug 14: Hindu seers performed the annual holy rituals of Chhari Mubarak or the holy mace of Lord Shiva today, ahead of the pilgrimage trek to a Himalayan cave in Jammu and Kashmir state. The "Chhari Mubarak" or the holy mace is carried every year from the city's ancient Shankaracharya temple to the Amarnath cave shrine during a month-long pilgrimage which draws Hindu faithfuls from across India.
