Bomb threat turns hoax at Engineering college

Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) An anonymous call todaythreatening that a bomb was planted at the city's Deccan Engineering College turned out to be a hoax.

The Deccan College of Engineering and Technology, situated at Darulsalam inside the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen's headquarters, was evacuated after an anonymous caller rang up the control room at the Police Commissioner's Office, and claimed a bomb had been planted on the second floor of the college and it could go off at any moment.

Students and staff were immediately evacuated. Two bomb disposal teams and a dog squad rushed to the spot and conducted search for more than three hours.

However, the bomb threat was turned out be a hoax as police found no explosive materials from the five-storey college building.
