New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today strongly regretted that even though the Indo-US nuclear deal treaty was being opposed by nearly 65 per cent of the Members of Parliament, the UPA government was determined to go ahead with this ''anti-national treaty''.

Addressing newsmen here, senior BJP leader V K Malhotra said this issue came up during the party's parliamentary party meeting here today addressed by the Leader of the Opposition L K Advani.

He said those parties opposing the nuclear deal should vote against the Bill in the house and merely speaking against it would not serve any purpose, he added.

He said that at today's meet, the party also discussed the serious communal situation in Assam where the Hindi speaking people were being subjected to killings at the hands of the ULFA militants.

He alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched against the hindi speaking people in Assam in connivance with the State Government to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Bangladeshis who were being evicted from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam.

He said the party had decided to send a fact-finding team on a two day visit to the troubled State of Assam and submit its report at the earliest.
