New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) A local court today dismissed the fifth bail application of suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara, allegedly involved in the human trafficking case.

Additional Sessions Judge V K Masheshwari said the case involved deep-rooted conspiracy and Katara, who was a sitting member of Parliament, misused his official position which was clear from the fact that he obtained passports in the name of his family members for some other persons under his signature.

Taking the fact into consideration, the judge dismissed the bail application of Katara.

According to the prosecution, the former BJP MP was arrested from the IGI airport on April 18 when he was trying to take a woman, Paramjit Kaur and a boy, Amarjit Singh, to Canada on the diplomatic passports of his wife and son.

During the course of investigation, it was revealed that Katara had earlier also tranported three women, a child and a person namely Niyamat abroad.
