BA rolls out special fares for Aug 15

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) British Airways (BA) has launched a special scheme to celebrate 60 years of India's independence under which it is offering premier economy cabin return trip tickets to Britain starting at Rs 36,000.

Passengers flying on BA between August 15 and September 30 will be able to avail of World Traveller Plus fare. BA said its premier economy cabin is aimed at catering to cost-conscious business travellers.

''To celebrate India's 60th year of independence, we are pleased to offer an opportunity to our customers to enjoy the world traveller plus experience,'' airline's area commercial manager for south Asia Amanda Amos said.

India continues to be a focus area for British Airways and the airline is constantly looking at providing innovative schemes to the Indian traveller, she said.

The British airline has been operating in the country for the past 78 years and currently has 43 flights a week from London to five Indian cities. It has double daily services to Mumbai, double dailies connecting Delhi and London, three times per week to Kolkata, five flights a week from Chennai and a daily operation from Bangalore.
