60 feared killed in cloudburst in HP
Shimla, Aug 14 (UNI) As many as 60 people were feared to have been washed away in flashfloods following a cloudburst at Ghanvi in Rampur Sub-division of Shimla district this evening.
The dead included government employees, few school children, staff of a primary health centre and some employees of a private company, official sources said.
They were washed away alongwith 14 residential houses in the flashfloods.
Twelve houses were partially damaged. The toll could be more as vast tracts of land with habitations were also washed away.
Civil authorities, headed by Rampur Sub-Divisional Magistrate D K Rattan, have rushed to the site to launch rescue operation.
