2 BMC school teachers selected for Presidents award

Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) Two Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation school teachers will receive the Presidents award for their contributions to the field of education.

The awards will be conferred on the occasion of Teachers Day on September 5. The awards are given away to around 350 teachers from all over the country.

The two teachers from Mumbai who have been selected for the awards are Lalita Gulati, a Hindi teacher from Chembur Camp BMC Hindi School No.2, and Hemlata Barwal, a Marathi teacher from H M Bhatla Municipal School, Chembur.

Expressing happiness at being selected for the award, Ms Gulati said, ''We want to tell the parents that BMC schools do not lag behind the private schools.'' Ms Barwal said, ''Winning the award makes me more responsible for the students, and will encourage me to do well for them.'' UNI
