150 officials caught in vigilance net during last year

Patna, Aug 14 (UNI) In a special drive launched against corrupt officers, Bihar state vigilance bureau caught red-handed altogether 150 officials of various departments of the state government while accepting bribes during the last one year.

Additional Director General of the Bureau Neelmani said here today that the bureau had arrested 150 people in different corruption cases so far.The number of cases instituted in connection with corruption cases was 128, he added.

Big shots among those involved and arrested in corruption cases included--Associate Commercial Taxes Commissioner-Bhojpur, Executive Engineer of building construction department, Divisional Forest Officer(DFO) of Bhabhua, Civil Surgeon of Sharsa,Circle Officer of Bhagwanpur in Begusarai district,Jail Superintendent of Madhepura and former District Magistrate of Madhepura,he informed.
