TDP fails to prove mining allegations: Minister

Hyderabad, Aug 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Legislative Affairs and Finance Minister K Rosaiah today claimed that the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has failed to prove its allegations against the Government that it had 'illegally' awarded mining contract to Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) in Anantapur district.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that except the TDP, all party MLAs, who visited the mining company to study its activities in the iron ore mines, were satisfied with the works taken up by the company and supported it.

''But the TDP was politicising the mining issue to gain political mileage and resorting to mudslinging on the Government,'' he added.

Alleging that the TDP was not in a position to prove its allegations against the Government in several instances, the Minister said the TDP MLAs, who visited the mining area, had created unnecessary tensions and even tried to disturb the law and order.
