Student run over by tractor, mob disrupts traffic

Jaunpur, Aug 13 (UNI) A mob today disrupted traffic flow in Maharajganj area here after a student was run over by a speeding tractor.

Shivam alias Golu (15), a student of class IX was crushed under the wheels of a tractor near Indira crossing, while he was on way way to school this morning.

Irked over the incident, a mob blocked the Maharajganj-Rajabazar road for several hours. The agitators set the vehicle ableze.

Getting to know the incident, police rushed to the spot. Seeing cops, the demonstrators resorted to stone pelting, besides vandalising the police jeep.

According to sources, the jeep driver sustained critical wounds in the incident.

The situation, at present, is said to be under control and police in strength deployed to prevent fresh violence.
