New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) The Supreme Court today cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to Gujarat DSP Narendra Kumar Amin in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

A bench comprising Justices Tarun Chatterjee and P K Balasubramanyam allowed the petition filed by the state of Gujarat challenging the orders of session judge who granted anticipatry bail to Amin who is accused of destroying the evidence in the case for his alleged involvement in disposing off the body of Kauser Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin who was killed in a fake encounter in November 2005.

Senior counsel K T S Tulsi appearing for state of Gujarat had earlier contended that custodial interrogation of the accused was a must and granting anticipatory bail to Amin will derail the trial.

Counsel for Amin L Nageshwar Rao, however, contended that his client was being framed in the case and was being pressurised to become approver and implicate other police officers including 3 senior IPS officers against whom chargesheet has already been filed after completing the investigation.

The court while cancelling the anticipatory bail noted that in such a serious case anticipatory bail cannot be granted and the accused can be interrogated in the case.Kausar Bi was allegedly killed on November 26, a day after her husband was killed and her body was desposed off allegedly on November 28, 2005.
